Obituary
Michael C. Dandrea, age 85, of Neenah passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, November 19, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born on March 26, 1932 in St. Paul, MN son of the late Michael and Concetta (Mansi) Dandrea. Michael grew up in St. Paul, where he learned how to hunt, fish, and garden; which he enjoyed doing with his father and brothers. Michael was drafted during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. During his time in Germany he met his wife Helga at Oktoberfest. They married on July 7, 1956 in St. Paul, MN. Their marriage was blessed with three daughters, two sons, and almost 60 wonderful years before Helga preceded him in death on March 17, 2016. He was a Sales Rep. for Moore Business Forms in the Fox Valley where he built his life. Michael was an active member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Michael was an active Barbershopper whose quartet “Ham ‘n Wry” performed all over the country for more than 30 years. He also enjoyed singing in the Parish Choir. In both choirs he established many life-long friendships. He was also an avid golfer, but above all, Michael loved his wife and family.
He will be sadly missed by his children: Monica Dandrea; Mark (Kim) Dandrea; Steven Dandrea; Linda Dandrea; Karen (Mike) Brandenburg; grandchildren: Ryan (Jenny) Brandenburg; Kurtis Dandrea; Nicole Owen; two outstanding great grandsons: Beckett and Jack Brandenburg; that continue to bring us joy, and are constant reminders of the legacy he built. He is further survived by his sister-in-law, Elaine Dandrea and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, Helga, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Emmanuella, Mary, Guy, and Frank.
Funeral Mass for Michael will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gabriel Parish (900 Geiger St., Neenah) with Father Larry Seidl officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's name may be given to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation or to St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
