OLIVIER HOPPE

Olivier E. Hoppe, age 73, of Menasha passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Gardenview Assisted Living Center. He was born on May 21, 1940 in Neenah, son of the late Alvin and Leona (Luebke) Hoppe. In 1958 he earned the Sportsmanship trophy for the Neenah High School football team, and continued his legacy of kindness throughout his life. On May 29, 1963 he married Roberta J. Erdmann in Neenah. Their marriage was blessed with one daughter, three sons, and 36 years before she preceded him in death on November 25, 1999. Ollie is a retiree of Gilbert Paper and of Sears Department store. He was active on the Church Council at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, and was proud to be a Leader at the Boys and Girls Brigade for many years. Ollie enjoyed golfing, tennis, biking, casino trips, traveling, word searches, playing bridge, and cheering on the Brewers and the Packers. Above all, he loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them, especially with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his daughter: Anne-Marie (Michael) Kislewski, Appleton; sons: Douglas (Anita) Hoppe, West Bend, David (Teresa) Hoppe, Fort Worth, TX, Daniel Hoppe, Stevens Point; grandchildren: Kyle and Connor Hoppe, Trevor and Alyssa Kislewski, Christopher and Benjamin Hoppe; a special friend, Jane Mrotek, Neenah. In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, Roberta, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clifford and Carlton Hoppe. The Funeral service for Olivier will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 473 Seventh Street, Menasha with Rev. David Skarsten officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home, and will continue on Friday directly at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Menasha. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ollie's name may be given to Boys and Girls Brigade or to St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
