Obituary
Kristine Sexton died on Saturday, 18 July. She was 74 years old.
Kristine was born on 26 September 1951 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Ruth and Russell Mueller. The eldest of three girls, Kristine followed her passions for art and design, which fortuitously led her during her time at university to meet her lifelong love, David Sexton. They married in 1973, but the adventure was only beginning: in the decade that followed Kristine took over the helm at the family business, Design Directions, and also welcomed their daughter, Alexis.
Kristine’s drive for success helped her to grow Directions into a nationally recognized graphic and packaging design company. Outside of work she enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, and endless trips to Big Portage Lake, but her greatest love and pride was her family. She came to life when preparing holiday meals or planning family gatherings, an energy that was truly infectious.
She is survived by her husband, David; her daughter, Alexis; her grandchildren, Luca and Livia; her sisters, Karen and Kate; and nephews Russell and Trevor and all of their families. She will be terribly missed by all.
A memorial will be held in her honor on Saturday, 8 August, at Westgor Funeral Home (205 W Doty Avenue) from 12 - 3 pm. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Kristine’s life and to share memories of the joy she brought to others.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ Forests for the Future Fund (https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/treeplanting/donate) in honor of her lifelong ties to the forests of Northern Wisconsin.
