Obituary
Laurel J. Nobbe, age 82, of Neenah, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026. Born on March 20, 1944, Laurel was a lifelong resident of Neenah whose deep appreciation for the arts and nature shaped much of her life. She was an accomplished and dedicated artist who especially enjoyed working with watercolors, trying new techniques, and sharing her creative spirit as an active member of the Oshkosh Fine Arts Association. She also proudly displayed her work in several of the shows she loved attending. For many years, Laurel also generously gave her time as a curator at Doty Cabin.
Laurel had a special love for animals, especially the many dogs she welcomed into her life over the years. She took great pride in training them and competing with them in agility contests. She also found great pleasure in feeding and watching the birds and squirrels that visited her yard and garden, which she cared for with devotion and pride.
Laurel will be remembered as a fiercely independent woman who truly loved the home she created for herself and the hobbies she embraced with enthusiasm. She will be deeply missed by her brother, George (Tricia) Nobbe; son, Erik (Kami Chiotti) Englebert; nephews and niece, Alan, Brian, Christopher, Lauren, and Jim, and their families; her closest friends, Teri Brancich, Kris and Jim Zeinert; and her former husband, Tom (Sue) Englebert.
Per Laurel’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to the Neenah Animal Shelter or the ASPCA.
