Sharon Gajdostik

Sharon Marie (Arndt) Gajdostik, age 80, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Sharon faced her illness with dignity and grace, knowing she had lived a full and active life.

Sharon was born July 12, 1946, the oldest of six children to Robert and Phyllis (DeBroux) Arndt. During her journey here on earth, Sharon attended St. Mary High School graduating with the class of 1964. Sharon went on to pursue a career in the travel industry. She graduated from Gail Institute. From there, she enjoyed working in a variety of fields related to the travel world. Her dedication and hard work would span decades, retiring after 35 years of service. She had many opportunities to travel and see the world, often taking her parents, creating beautiful and lasting memories of their travels together. Traveling to Europe with her siblings and spouses was an adventure of a lifetime creating treasured memories of laughter, fun and family bonding.

She met the love of her life, Martin Gajdostik, and they were married on February 3, 1998. Through this union, Sharon became a proud stepmother to Michael and Eric, along with their spouses, Samantha and Anna. A very special moment was becoming a grandmother to Josslin (Michael and Samantha) whom she cherished and loved dearly. Her grandma brag card was always on hand to share a photo, or an adventure or two of Joss.

Sharon lived her entire life in Menasha, proud of her home that was admired by many and often commented on by passersby!! She definitely had a knack for decorating, making her little house a castle! A day was never complete without a visit, a wave, or a watchful eye from her long-standing neighbors, Charlene and Tom. Many hours were spent together sharing a good book, a recipe, or just chatting in their backyards. They were there for Sharon during the good times and the bad times. Sharon was a devoted dog lover. During her lifetime, she had three faithful companions whom she loved dearly; Cubby, Jackson, and Maggie. I’m sure their tails are wagging ready to greet her! Sharon was blessed with a beautiful family and many wonderful friends.

Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Martin; her stepsons Michael (Samantha) Gajdostik, Eric (Anna) Gajdostik, and granddaughter, Josslin Gajdostik. She is survived by her siblings; William (Genevieve) Arndt, Christine (Joseph) Brantmeier, Janice (Charles) Johnson, Darlene Mortensen, and brother-in-law, Jerry Russell. She is also survived by her brothers- and sisters-in-law; Toni Ann Wozniak, Josephine (Chick) Schroeder, Karen Gajdostik, Frank (Gail) Gajdostik; along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Russell; father- and mother-in-law, Tony and Pat Gajdostik; brother-in-laws, Michael Mortensen and Rod Schroeder; her nephew and Godson, Matthew Arndt; and Michael P. Staniak, her beloved fiancé, taken too young before their wedding. Sharon sustained many hardships and losses in her life, but with determination and resilience, she moved forward and left a lasting legacy; one of enduring strength and cherished love.

Sharon’s work is complete and her hands rest from their labor. We rejoice that she has entered into the joy of the Lord. “Come follow me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I shall give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Rest in peace, Sharon. Love you always and forever.

Per Sharon’s request there will be no formal services. There will be a Celebration of Life for family and close friends at a later date. Details are forthcoming.
