Obituary
Linda S. Rickert, 77, of Neenah, Wisconsin, passed away on August 19, 2026. She was born in Shawano, Wisconsin, to Victor and Lucy (Tischauser) Johnson.
Linda was baptized on October 2, 1949, and confirmed on April 7, 1963, at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. She graduated from Shawano High School on June 6, 1967. She married Allan W. Rickert at St. James Lutheran Church in 1968 and recently celebrated 58 years of marriage and built a life centered around family, faith and love. Around 1970, Linda and Allan became members of Peace Lutheran Church, where their church family became an important part of their lives.
Linda was a dedicated and hardworking woman throughout her career. She sold Avon for 40 years, building lasting relationships with the many people she served. She also worked at Plexus and at Curves in Neenah until retirement in 2012.
Linda was a planner in life, but her greatest plans always revolved around her family. She put her family first in every way and loved nothing more than having everyone together. Holidays and family celebrations were especially important to her, and she made sure no one ever left her home hungry. Her home was a place of warmth, love and togetherness, and she took great joy in caring for it and enjoying the beauty of nature around her.
One of Linda's greatest joys was being a grandmother. She loved nothing more than spoiling her grandchildren rotten and being there for each of them in their own unique way. She saw and celebrated the individual gifts, talents and personalities of every grandchild, always encouraging them, supporting them and making sure they knew how proud she was of them. Linda was a constant source of love, encouragement and unconditional support.
Linda was also known for the love she put into her baking, particularly her Christmas cookies, candies, and her famous caramels. Her caramels became a signature part of who she was, and they were especially well known within her church community at Peace Lutheran Church. Sharing her treats was one of the many ways Linda shared her love with others, and those who were lucky enough to receive them will remember not only how delicious they were, but the thought and care that went into making them.
Words cannot do Linda justice. Being a mom is not a big enough word to describe who she was. Linda was a mother to everyone and anyone. She had an extraordinary ability to make people feel cared for, welcomed and loved. She gave of herself freely and always put the needs of others ahead of her own. Even when she was in pain, Linda continued to give love, often making sure no one around her knew how much she was hurting.
Linda's greatest gift was the love she gave so generously. She was the heart of her family, the person who brought everyone together, made sure everyone was fed, and found countless ways to make the people around her feel loved. Her family, friends and church community will forever cherish the memories of her kindness, her generosity, her Christmas cookies and, of course, her caramels.
Linda will be deeply missed, but the love she gave so freely will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Allan Rickert; her children: Rob Rickert, Stephanie Rickert, and Carrie (Dan) Bohnart; her grandchildren: Amanda (Brandt), Brianna, Nicholas, Tyler (Ashley), Grant & Evenlyn; great-grandchildren: Logan, Easton, Lucy & Ellie. She is further survived by her sister Jean Zaddack and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday August 29, 2026, at 11:30 am at Peace Lutheran Church, 1228 S Park Ave, Neenah, WI. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service.
