Obituary
Mike Treu, age 56, passed away unexpectedly on October 24th at Theda Care Medical Center in Neenah.
As a graduate of Lakeland Union High School class of 1988, he finished his degree from Madison School of Electronics and was a Sr Test Engineer at Ducommun. Mike is survived by his wife, Sheri; his sons: Max and Tony; his parents, Jack and Fran Treu; and his brother, Rich (Angie).
If you knew Mike, you knew that his quiet demeanor was just his way of making sure everyone around him knew he was listening and ready to engage in a conversation. Beyond that quietness was a punk rock enthusiast who’s attendance at concerts and festivals made for a life filled with experiencing his favorite musicians.
Along with his passion for music came the love for travel with his family. Mike and Sheri were no strangers to packing up and heading to mountains or beaches along with cities filled with music and great food. The memories of family trips to many locations will be cherished for years to come.
As a father he made sure to be there for his kids anytime they needed him, with little or no questions asked. He was someone they learned to lean on into adulthood.
As a member of the community you could find him volunteering, supporting original music and pitching in wherever he was needed.
Mike left us way to early – but as an organ donor he was able to give his gifts to recipients for heart, lungs and liver. That is a special legacy that we will forever by grateful for.
Mike, you will be missed by so many of us who counted on your quick-witted humor, generosity and you ALWAYS had time to for a beer with your friends! Cheers my love, until we are together again.
A celebration of life has been planned for his family and friends.
