Robert "Bob" Blohm
July 01, 1942 - November 05, 2026
Obituary
Robert M. Blohm, 84, of Neenah, passed away on November 5, 2026. Born July 1, 1942, to Milton and Alvera Blohm, Bob spent most of his life in Neenah, Bob always considered it home, despite brief periods living in Texas and California.
Bob dedicated his career to Kimberly-Clark, where he worked as a mechanical engineer. Following his retirement from Kimberly-Clark, he continued working at Krueger's from 2003 until 2019. Earlier in life, he proudly served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965 as a Missile Electrician. Although his military service concluded before the Vietnam War, he was honored to participate in the Old Glory Honor Flight. Bob was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah.
Music was one of Bob's greatest passions. A naturally gifted musician, he could pick up just about any kind of guitar and play by ear, never needing to read a note of music. He was a longtime member of the band Summer Breeze, sharing his love of music with audiences wherever he could, including fellow residents at Island Shores. For many years, he also played one night a week at Cannova's, creating memories through the music he loved. Whether performing with his band or simply picking up an instrument, music was always a part of Bob's life.
Family always came first for Bob. He was also a devoted Green Bay Packers fan, rarely missing a game from the comfort of home. Ever the optimist, even when the Packers were trailing by 20 points, Bob could be counted on to say, "We have time." He enjoyed celebrating the team's victories in his own way, sometimes heading outside to play his trumpet when the Packers were on a roll.
Bob loved being outdoors and making the most of a sunny day. He enjoyed biking, tending to his vegetable garden, golfing, and, above all, soaking up the sunshine. He especially loved the heat and could often be found sitting outside enjoying the warmth. Golf was another favorite pastime, often shared with his sister and brother-in-law, and occasionally with his daughter.
Bob will be remembered for his musical talent, his love of family, his optimism, and his appreciation for life's simple pleasures. Whether through a song, a sunny afternoon, time spent on the golf course, or cheering on the Packers, he found joy in the things he loved and shared that joy with those around him. He leaves behind many wonderful memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Corrine, his dedicated and caring hospice nurse of three years, as well as the staff of Island Shores, for the compassion and kindness they showed Bob.
He is survived by his daughters Rachel (Edward) Maloney and Lisa (Josh) Sobota; grandchildren: William & Lydia Maloney and Keston & Kolton Sobota; his sister: Donna (Carl) Sandstrom.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 407 Oak Street, Neenah, WI. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
