SUZANNE SCHLICHTE

Suzanne Sylvia Schlichte, age 79, of Menasha died peacefully from lung cancer on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born on July 25, 1934 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Alfred and Winifred (Ghoca) Leo. On May 29, 1965 she married Ronald A. Schlichte at Holy Name Catholic Church in Wausau. The marriage was blessed with one daughter and 49 wonderful years. For several years, she knitted caps for the Salvation Army. She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Neenah. Sue enjoyed knitting, sewing, cooking, and baking. Her rhubarb custard pie, was a favorite in her family. Above all, she loved being a grandmother to Lily and Fiona. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Ron; her daughter, Cindy Schlichte (husband Alex Wong), of Madison; her adored granddaughters, Lily and Fiona Wong; and brothers: Jack (Gloria) Leo, Spring Valley, WI, Tom (Barb) Leo, Suamico; Siblings-in-law: Dorothy Rothe, Neenah, Robert (Sp. friend Jean) Schlichte, Menasha, Donald (Jan) Schlichte, Neenah; several nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Lee Rothe. Funeral Mass for Sue will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church (900 Geiger St., Neenah) with Father Larry Seidl officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sue's name may be given to ThedaCare at Home Hospice.
