Jean Dethardt

Jean A. Dethardt, age 80, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026, Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour. She was born October 23, 1945, in Neenah, daughter of the late Perry and Helen Barkhahn.

 Jean was employed with UW-Oshkosh in administration. After starting a family, she was a stay-at-home mom until her children were older. Jean then retired from the Neenah Foundry after working more than 30 years.

 Jean loved traveling the Country her whole life, seeing everything she could. Motorcycle trips across the country, traveling with close friends to Boston, New Orleans, Florida and Dollywood. Weekend girls’ trips in Wisconsin with “Her Girls”. Jean also loved her cats: Muffin, Cece and Pooh Bear.

 She is survived by her children: James (Cindy) Dethardt, Scott (Kathy) Dethardt; three grandchildren: Alex Dethardt, Lisa (Jason) Staver, Christopher Dethardt; step-grandchildren: Rebecca (James) Nennig, Ted (Raechel) Garbisch; a great-granddaughter, Sydney Staver, and many step great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy Garlock; and a brother, John Barkhahn.

 A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Neenah’s Westgor Funeral Home. Visitation from 10:00 AM until the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
