JOYCE WINTER

Joyce Ann Winter, age 87 of Neenah, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021. Joyce was born on May 3, 1934 in Neenah, Wisconsin to the late Frank and Louise Miller. She graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1952 and went to work as a keypunch operator at Aid Association for Lutherans.

She joined the US Air Force in November 1955. She went through basic training at Lockland in San Antonio, Texas and was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana. There Joyce met the love of her life, Robert Winter, Sr., who was also a member of the US Air Force. They were married on October 6, 1956 and were discharged from their military service in December of 1957. Joyce and Bob lived in Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario, Canada before settling in Appleton, Wisconsin. Together they raised three wonderful children and enjoyed almost 59 years of marriage before Bob passed away on August 27, 2015.

Joyce is survived by her children and their spouses, Robert (Jane) Winter, Jr.; Julie (Michael) LaBrec; and Andrew (Nicole) Winter; as well as by 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 2 great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her parents, and three sisters, Shirley, Carol, and Betty.

“Tough Joyce” will be greatly missed as she was a very strong woman who was full of love for all of us. "Mother's hold their children's hands for a while, but their hearts forever." Unknown
