DENNIS HAESE

Dennis Evan Haese, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born on July 15, 1941 in New London, WI; son of the late Oscar and Rosa (Bartel) Haese. Dennis was an employee of Gilbert Paper for 35 years. His battle with cancer caused his retirement and began a new chapter of his life. His dream of being an artist began. His artwork on canvas, milk cans, garage doors, cars, mail boxes, saw blades, feathers, and even egg shells are currently on view in or around many homes in our country. Dennis was proud of the fact that he could leave for vacation, stop at cities along the way, provide a smile and handshake that would create new relationships, and out of that he might find a customer for his artwork. He showed his children and his grandchildren that you really can pursue and fulfill your dreams. Dennis earned the title "Great Grandpa" as his family grew and he always remained a kid at heart, so many will agree there was always a smile upon his face. He loved to play games, pranks, and water ski. He supported his right to live off the land by being an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener, a trait carried down to his children. For one life to touch so many, he was a gift from God. He will be deeply missed by his children: Lori (Jeff) Smith, Neenah, Lisa (Bernice Brei) Haese, Leopolis, Brian (Debbie Kryzaniak) Haese, Oshkosh and Brad (Nena Kandler) Haese, Neenah; grandchildren: Sara (fiancé, Jonah Rogers) Neff, Michael Neff, Aaron (Traci) Shaw, Alli (Scott Kemper) Smith, Nicole (Blue Williams) O'Connell, Alicia (Michael) Stichman, Jensen Haese, Marty Haese and Alyson Kandler; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah O'Connell, Isabella, Kendra and Corra Stichman and Ava Shaw; sister, Sandra (Gale) Zietlow, Weyauwega; special friend, Kathryn Jerabek; sister-in-law, Susan Haese and brother-in-law, Gerhard Haggenmueller. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Ellery Haese and Carlon Haese and sister, Margo Haggenmueller. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Nickel officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
