ROBERT BERGSTROM

Robert (Bob) Lee Bergstrom, 78, Neenah, formerly of Emmettsburg, IA, entered his eternal home with the Lord unexpectedly on Wednesday July 16, 2014. Robert was born March 14, 1936 to the late Francis & Erma Bergstrom. He was raised on the family's farms in Iowa and Missouri. Robert served in the US Air Force and was stationed in Alaska. He was united in marriage to Rose Noll, they had 7 beautiful children. Robert enjoyed farming with his family where they worked over 3,000 acres in Iowa. He retired as an over the road semi driver and has driven more than 4 million miles across 48 states and Canada. He drove most of his career with Smithway Motor Xpress. Robert enjoyed participating in the Iowa Motor Truck Association driving rodeo. He was honored to be a candidate for the Independent Owner Operator of the Year and had received many safety and driving awards. Robert is survived by the love of his life, Carol. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on June 17th. His children Richard "Rick" Bergstrom, TX, Robert "Rob" (Susan Jo), IA, Randy (Cherie), CO, Regina (Jeff) Perlow, AZ, Rodney "Dude" (Marci), IA, Renae (Shawn) Reed, AZ, Olivia (Jeff) Herrick and Noah Mattern of Neenah; his grandchildren Dallas (Sara), Derrick, Matt, Wryleigh (Duncan), Careese, Christopher, Vicktoria, Step, Brittany Lynn, Josie Beth, Jewel, Jacqlin, Judd, Jesslyn, Chloe, Kai, Carter, Clayton, Hunter, and one great grandson, Brady. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his son Russel Lamar, and his favorite St. Bernards Daytona and Hannah. Bob was the life of the party in all aspects of life. He and Carol recently returned to Wisconsin after residing in warmer weather in Colorado for 5 years. Bob truly believed living life to the fullest and it is all part of the "book of life". The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wed., July 23, 2014 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1140 Tullar Rd., Neenah. The visitation will be held on Tues., at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00 PM, and again at the church on Wed., from 9:00 AM until the hour of service.
