NICHOLAS KRAUS

Nicholas D. Kraus, "Nick", of Torrance, CA, formerly of Neenah, age 31, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday September 10, 2014 as a result of a car accident. He was born December 21, 1982, in Milwaukee, son of David and Laura (Margelowsky) Kraus. Nick graduated from Neenah High School (2001) then continued on to Lawrence University where he graduated with a Music Degree in Percussion Performance (2005). Nick received his Master's Degree from Roosevelt University in Chicago (2008). Nick continued to pursue his music in Los Angeles, California. Since relocating to Southern California, Nick actively performed with the Golden State Pops Orchestra, Crystal Cathedral Orchestra, Orange County Symphonies, BlueBirds Showband, Video Games Live and numerous rock, country, jazz and salsa bands. In the studio, Nick can be heard on numerous video game soundtracks as well as several LA salsa and orchestral recordings.. For the past 3 years, Nick taught percussion and marching band at Santa Margarita Catholic High School, earning the love and admiration of students and faculty alike. Nick is survived by his parents, David and Laura Kraus (Neenah); two brothers: Adam (Erin, Aiden, and Lilian) Kraus (Appleton), Daniel Kraus (Milwaukee); his beloved Diana Bui (Henderson, NV); his grandmother, Shirley Margelowsky (Hartford); and his godmother, Kathryn Margelowsky (Hartford) as well numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents Albert and Anna Kraus and Raymond Margelowsky. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1140 Tullar Road, Neenah, with The Rev.'s Jon and Tabitha Gallatin officiating. The visitation will be at the church from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
