DOROTHY RAU

Dorothy "Dottie" (Skaletski) Rau, age 80, of Neenah, WI passed away on April 26, 2017 at Bornemann Nursing Home in Green Bay, surrounded by her loving family. 

Dottie was born in Casco, Wisconsin on July 19, 1936. She married James W. Rau on November 5, 1955 and, with him, raised their five children and adored their eight grandchildren. Dottie enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling with family and friends to casinos and going to their cabin up north.  Dottie's sense of humor and love will be deeply missed by all who shared those with her.

Dottie is survived by her five children: Linda (John) Byron, Park Ridge, IL; Jeffrey Rau, Oshkosh, WI, Richard Rau, Neenah, WI, Pamela (Fidel) Aguila, Erie, CO and Timothy (Kris) Rau, Three Lakes, WI. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jessica (Adam) Streich, Jennifer (Matt) Hertzberg, Kristina (John) Zolninger, James “JT” Rau, Scott (Jacqueline) Weeman, Adam (Jesse) Weeman, and Michael and Lucas Byron.  She is also survived by her three great grandchildren, Eli and Avery Zolninger and Rowan Weeman.

Dottie is further survived by her siblings: Bernard (Karen) Skaletski, Rose (Dale) Ronsman, John (Marie) Skaletski, Jordon (Shirley) Skaletski, Mary (Ron) Devroy, and Steve (Rose) Skaletski, as well as many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, her mother, Margaret,  her father, Steven, and her friend, Al Babbitts.  She's happy to join her family and friends in Heaven, and they now have a fifth for sheepshead. 

The Funeral Mass for Dottie will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Gabriel Parish (900 Geiger St., Neenah) with Father Larry Seidl officiating.  Friends will be received directly at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.  Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dottie's name may be given to the American Heart Association.
