ARLENE CISKE

Arlene E. Ciske, age 93, Appleton, formerly of Menasha passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Peabody Manor. She was born on November 10, 1920 in Gillett, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Ernest and Augusta (Malessa) Kolberg. In 1942 she married Jerome "Jay" L. Ciske. The marriage was blessed with a daughter, four sons, and 67 wonderful years before Jerome preceded her in death on June 25, 2009. She was a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Menasha. Arlene was a "mom's mom." She was an excellent cook and baker, loved canning foods, and loved taking care of her family. Her meticulous housekeeping was noticed and appreciated by all who had been to her home. Her nurturing, hard-working, family-oriented spirit will be forever remembered by her family. She is survived by her daughter, Antoinette Bukowski, Germantown; sons: Jerome Jr. (Lynn) Ciske, Menasha, Daryl (Pat) Ciske, Neenah, Kenneth (Ann) Ciske, Sherwood, Jeff (Lynne) Ciske, Neenah; 8 grandchildren: Adam, Dr. Ben (Becky), and Brandon (Rachel) Ciske; Michelle (Mark) Thompson, Amy (Marty) Miller, Chris Ciske, Stanley (Johanna) Ciske, Marie (Jesse) Clark; 10 great grandchildren: Wyatt and Bailey Thompson; Chance Miller; Calvin Ciske; Jenna, Tyler, Haley, and Nathan Clark; Dylan Ciske; Carter Ciske; sisters: Bernice Schabo, Seymour; Arbutus (Ted) Cegla, West Allis; Jean (Chet) Kocherer, Arkansas; brothers: Orville Kolberg, Wauwatosa; Leland (Bea) Kolberg, New Berlin; Ted Kolberg, Portland, OR; Tom (Pat) Kolberg, Roseburg, OR; sisters-in-law: Elsie Kolberg, Two Harbors, MN; Arlene Kolberg, West Allis. In addition to her parents, and her beloved husband Jerome, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Ernest Jr., Merlin, and Vilas; and her son-in-law, Ron Bukowski; sister-in-law, Mary Kolberg. A private family service will be held. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Sherwood. The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff at The Heritage Peabody Manor, especially Kathy, for the care and compassion given to our Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother.
