LEONARD MILLER

Leonard W. Miller, of Neenah, age 78, passed away peacefully at Theda Clark Medical Center on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. He was born September 20, 1936 in Ashland, Wisconsin, son of the late Otto and Laura (Derda) Miller. Leonard graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1955. He then joined the US Air Force and was a member of the 49th Fighter Bomber Group of the 5th Air Force. Leonard married Sharon Rogge on April 20, 1963 in Tigerton, WI. Leonard loved spending time with his family and friends at the Cabin in Tigerton. He was a volunteer for 25 years with the Boys' and Girls' Brigade. Leonard also enjoyed woodworking, deer hunting with his family and friends and driving around in his 1945 Willy's restored military jeep. He was a charter member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, a life member of AMVETS, a member of the VFW and the Military Veterans Museum in Oshkosh. Survivors include his wife, Sharon; a son, Joseph (Diana) Miller, Neenah; and three granddaughters: Nicole, Michelle and Monica Miller. Leonard was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, November 24, 2014, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St., Neenah, with Fr. Richard Allen officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 AM until the hour of Mass. Full military rites will follow the service with the Neenah Menasha Veterans Honor Guard and the US Air Force. Interment will follow in St. Margaret's Cemetery.
