DOROTHY SCHMIDT

Dorothy Pearl Schmidt of Neenah passed away on Saturday, November 22 at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton with her family at her side. She was born on April 2, 1923 in Neenah to Gustav and Pearl (Dressler) Domnie. On May 27, 1944, Dorothy married Daniel Schmidt at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Neenah while he was on a 15-day Navy leave. They enjoyed over 70 years together raising two daughters, gardening, taking long walks and traveling. Dorothy was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Dorothy is survived by her husband Dan, daughter Gail (Dean) Anderson of Appleton and sister Marge (Don) Rolph of Appleton. Five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive her along with other relatives and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by daughter Jody (Bud) Gadow, brother Harold and parents. A Celebration of Life is being held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 200 N. Commerical St., Neenah with The Rev. Paul L. Holte officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Inurnment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Neenah. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Staff at Cherry Meadows for their wonderful care, love and compassion shown to Dorothy and her family family.
