Obituary
Vera A. Coulthurst, age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born in New Orleans on July 31, 1932 to the late Rodie and Lovey Cochran. Vera married Raymond Bennetts on January 29, 1948 and enjoyed 47 wonderful years together before he passed away in 1995. From their marriage they were blessed with 6 children, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Vera later married Virgil Coulthurst on September 27, 1997. Together they spent 20 fun loving years together. Along with Virgil, Vera has 3 step-children: Gary (Carol) Coulthurst, David (Theresa) Coulthurst, and Linda Parker; as well as 7 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was employed by Presto Products of Appleton as a department supervisor for 30 years. Vera always had a strong faith and was a longtime member of St. Gabriel Parish in Neenah. Some of her favorite past times included crocheting afghans, camping, traveling, penny machines and video poker at the casinos; however, she especially loved spending time with her family. Vera was close to her family and will be missed tremendously by all.
She is survived by her husband Virgil Coulthurst; children: Carol (Terry) Arnold, Roddy (Shirley) Bennetts, Susan Boushley, Jennifer (Paul) Vannes, and Jessica (Matt) Lucas; sister Marion Richards, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Vera was preceded in death by her first husband Raymond Bennetts; daughter Mary Heinz; siblings: Dorothy Fortier, Mary Ellen Doan, Richard Keller, and Thomas Keller; son-in-law David Boushley; and step son-in-law Sam Parker.
The Memorial Service for Vera will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home, 1140 Appleton Road, Menasha. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3:30 p.m. until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to Alzheimer's Association – Greater Wisconsin Chapter, 3313 S. Vera's family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and CNAs at Oakridge Gardens Memory Unit in Menasha for all of their compassionate and attentive care.
