LEELAND NIELSEN

Leeland L. Nielsen, age 87 of Menasha, passed away Wednesday, December 03, 2014. He was born to the late Benjamin and Sine Marie Nielsen on January 25, 1927 in Tyler, MN and married Shirley Peterson. Together they had 5 children. Lee proudly served his country as a Medic in the Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. After his time in the service, he became a Lab and X-Ray Technician, and worked at different hospitals in Minnesota and North Dakota. Eventually he and his family settled in Menasha after Lee began working for Kimberly-Clark. He later retired after 20 years of service from Neenah Foundry and is a member of First United Methodist Church, Neenah/Menasha. Lee is survived by his wife of 64 years; his 5 children: Terrence (Char); Nannette (Louis) Pagel; Craig; Daniel (Catherine); and Bruce (Amy); 10 grandchildren: Dana, Sara, Drew, Christine, Mike, Allison, James, Mark, Jennifer, and Austin; and 11 great-grandchildren: Chase, Connor, Brooke, Eli, Avia, Blake, Chloe, Payton, Violet, Sean and Trent. Per Lee's request, a memorial gathering will be held starting at NOON on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Neenah's Labor Temple, 157 Green Bay Rd.
