LOUISE DAMIE

Louise C. Damie, age 100, of Menasha, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at the Gardens of Fountain Way Assisted Living Center. Louise was born December 3, 1910, in Wakefield, MI, the daughter of Mark and Mary (Crossatte) Damie. Louise was employed with Woodenware in Menasha for eleven years before starting her long-time position with Marathon Corp. (American Can, James Rivers) in 1939. She retired in 1975. Louise was a parishioner at St. Patrick Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and was a good cook. Survivors include two sisters-in-law: Marie Damie and Margaret Damie, both of Menasha; two nieces: Mary (Gary) Van Linn, Neenah, and Catherine (Mark) Jung, Menasha; two nephews: Mark Damie and Joseph (Joan) Damie, of Menasha; two grandnephews: Michael (Lesley) Van Linn, Milwaukee, and Steven Van Linn (fiancee Katie Medlicott), Neenah; a grandniece, Megan Jung, Grand Chute; and many special friends. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Albertina, Madeline, and Virginia Damie; and two brothers: August and John Damie. The Funeral Mass for Louise will be celebrated Friday, July 8, 2011, 11:00 a.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Menasha, with Fr. Larry Abler, OFM Cap. officiating. Visitation will begin Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the church until the time of the mass. Interment will be in St. Margarets Cemetery, Neenah. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Louises name. The family would like to send their thanks to all the staff and Gardens of Fountain Way for all their help and the Heartland Hospice, especially Sr. Ruth, Barbie, her nurse, Elma, Christine, and Tonya, her aides, and Nicole, her social worker, for their care over this past year.
