JOAN LEMIEUX

Joan Lemieux, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, age 89, passed peacefully on Friday, July 29, 2011. She was born on February 20, 1922, in England, the daughter of Francis and Emily (Williams) Rattenbury. On August 13, 1945, she married Sylvester Wiatrowski who was with the United States Army stationed in England. Joan has resided in the U.S.A. since 1946. She married John Lemieux on March 6, 1971. Joan was an active member in her church. She was also a member of the Menasha Elks Club. An avid crafter, Joan made beautiful Victorian ornaments which adorned her Christmas tree. Joans greatest loves were her daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Rodney Mentzel; granddaughters, Tammie Dalke and Shelly (Paul) Schiessl; and great-grandchildren; Allen, Ashley, Tyler, and Andrew. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, granddaughters, great-grandchildren, her sister, Evelyn, and special family members Jamie and Deanna Brock. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, a brother, and her husbands, Sylvester and John. The family would like to thank the many people who loved and cared for Joan. They would especially like to thank Karen for her many years of care given and devotion. A special thank you to St. Elizabeths Hospital and their staff, Prairie Home and Hospice. The Memorial Service for Joan will be Thursday, August 4, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Menasha, with Rev. Ralph Osborne officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the hour of the service at the church. Inurnment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Menasha.
