MELLA BRANDT

Mella C. Brandt, of Neenah, age 98, passed away at 8:20 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, 2011 at Vallhaven Care Center. She was born Nov. 17, 1912 in Chicago, IL, to Frank T. and Elizabeth (Gehring) Clark. Mella married Earl F. Brandt in Chicago on January 6, 1931. He preceded her in death in 1989. She was a homemaker and lived in Chicago until Earls retirement in 1977 when they moved to Neenah. She enjoyed all of her extended family, her many visits to their homes, and their visits to Chicago and later in Neenah. Mella was an avid reader her entire life and read at least one book per week. She is survived by her daughter, Betty (Donald) Goeters of Roswell, GA; and two sons: James (Linda) Brandt of San Diego, CA, and Michael (Patricia) Brandt of Peoria, IL; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. All are welcome to attend a memorial mass on Monday, August 15, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel the Archangel, 900 Geiger St., Neenah. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to her church.
