ARVIS THOMPSON

Arvis M. Thompson, age 87, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. She was born on April 15, 1924 in the Town of Morris, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Otto and Pearl (Weir) Prey. Arvis worked for many years at Zwickers Knitting Mill. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Neenah. She volunteered many hours serving food to the needy. Arvis loved bowling, so much so that she travelled to tournaments all over the country. She was a tap dancer and a Red Hatter, and loved to travel. She will be sadly missed by her children: Gloria (Kim) Runge, Appleton; Eugene Corky (Caroline) Thompson, Neenah; grandchildren: Randy (Karen) Flesch, Waupaca, Ryan (Carrie) Flesch, Lakeview, MN, Lance (Christy) Thompson, Greenville; Bret (Jennifer) Thompson, Neenah; 7 great grandchildren; her sister, Dorothy Kunst, Mesa, AZ; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Beth Hintz; and brothers: Ralph, Bob, Lyle, Harvey, and Wayne (infant). The Memorial Service for Arvis will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul L. Holte officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Embarrass, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to St. Paul Lutheran Church in her name.
