Obituary
Betty Jane Olson, of Menasha, age 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 5, 2011. She was born October 18, 1935, in Iron Mountain, MI, daughter of the late Joseph and Beatrice (Peterson) Uren. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1953, and was a resident of the Fox Valley since 1955. On July 25, 1953 Betty married Larry Olson at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Kingsford, MI. Betty worked for K-Mart in Appleton for 18 years before her retirement in 1997. She enjoyed sewing, baking and traveling. Most of all, she enjoyed taking care of her family and spending time with them. Betty is survived by her husband of over 57 years, Larry, Sr.; two daughters: Cindy (Kevin) Bubolz of Menasha, Julie (Gene) Nackers of Neenah; four sons: Larry Jr. ( Linda) of Menasha, Terry (Maria) of Lawrenceburg, KY, Scott of Cordova, TN, Michael (Lynn) of Madison, WI; five granddaughters: Laura (Matt) John of Menasha, Jenny (Tony) Pagel of Kimberly, Sara Olson of Flagstaff, AZ, Emilie (Aaron) Steinmann of Windsor, WI, Sage Olson of Madison, WI; six grandsons: Jeremy (Jamie) Olszewski of Menasha, Jay (Tina) Olszewski of Sherwood, Keith Olson of Las Vegas, NV, Eric Olson (special friend, Tina Howard) of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, Michael Bubolz (fianc, Danielle Johnson) of Milwaukee, WI, Cahl Olson of Madison, WI; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Sue (Gerald) Knutson of Kingsford, MI; sisters"in-law: Betty Uren of Quinnesec, MI, June Uren of Pembine, WI and Mary Ann Uren of Manitowoc, WI. Betty was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Pamela Jean; her parents; her sister Mary Lu Warmuth; and her brothers: Robert, Jerry, and Thomas Uren. A memorial service will be held at Menashas Westgor Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Huff officiating. The visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service. A strong, unselfish woman to be admired. The Family would like to extend a special thank you to Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center. Their caring efforts to assist our Mother were greatly appreciated.
