DONALD LAUX

Donald R. Laux, age 82, of Neenah, passed away on Wednesday morning, February 9, 2011 at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born on December 11, 1928 in Menasha, son of the late George and Lucy (Esdepsky) Laux. Don was a 1946 graduate of St. Marys High School. On May 3, 1947 he married Doris Jean Voss in Milwaukee and the union was blessed with two sons and nearly 64 years. He was employed by the City of Neenah as a construction inspector. Don loved hunting, fishing, Packers football, Cubs baseball, and NASCAR racing. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Doris; his son, Gene (Kathy) Laux, Neenah; grandchildren: Christopher Laux, Charlotte, NC, Kelly (Chad) Quandt, Little Chute; sisters: Rita Compton, Sister Bay, Patricia (Paul) LaBadie, South Bend, IN, Ruth (Clyde) Bolyard, Milwaukee; brother, Ronald Laux, Milwaukee; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven Richard Laux, brothers: Eugene and Gerald; sister-in-law, Muriel; brother-in-law, Charles Compton; and his parents-in-law, Bert and Ethel Voss. A Service of Comfort for Don will be held on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home with Rev. Samuel Degner officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name. The family wishes to thank the staff on the fourth floor at Theda Clark, and especially Dr. Curtis Baltz for their loving care and compassion.
