RUTH GIBSON

Ruth Gibson, 79, of Menasha, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011, at Valley VNA in Neenah. Ruth was born June 5, 1931, in Davidson County, North Carolina, the daughter of Clarence and Effie (Sechrist) Harrell. She was united in marriage to Wayne B. Gibson on December 10, 1960, in Menasha. Ruth was employed with Bergstrom (Glatfelter) Paper Company for many years. The Gibsons belong to the Congregational United Church of Christ, Neenah/Menasha, and Ruth participated in their Bible studies and Marthas Market. She was a member of the Daughters of Rebekah. Ruth and Wayne enjoyed dining out together, going on their annual trips to North Carolina, and baking. Survivors include her husband, Wayne; her son, Eugene Gibson, Menasha; her daughters, Marsha (Mark) Geisler, Franklin, and Sharon (Paul) Swatscheno, Neenah;, son-in-law, David Nyback, Appleton; her grandchildren: Matthew (Jessica) Geisler, Michael (Monica) Geisler, Mark Geisler (fiance, Clancy), Derek Nyback, Desmond Nyback, and Samantha and Stephanie Swatscheno; her great-grandchildren: Lucas, Peyton, Ben, and Addison; two brothers, Leo (Marie) Harrell and Lester Harrell; sister-in-law, Florence Harrell, Joyce (Rhynold) Pingel, and Mabel Porter; and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Nancy Gibson and Debbie Nyback; a sister, Virginia Hodges; two brothers, Clifton Harrell and T.W. Harrell; sister-in-laws, Ethel Harrell, Gladys Harrell and Shirley (Lorge) Jenks; and brother-in-law, Paul Porter. The Funeral Service for Ruth will be Monday, February 14, 2011, 11:00 a.m., at the Congregational United Church of Christ of Neenah/Menasha, with Rev. Lynne Spencer-Smith officiating. Visitation will begin Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the church until the hour of the service. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Valley VNA.
