HARRY MILLER

Harry L. Miller, age 75 of Neenah, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2011. He was born January 11, 1936 in Neenah to the late Harry A. and Emmaline (Pontow) Miller. Harry graduated from Neenah High School in 1954. While in high school, he played baseball and football, being co-captain and All-Conference. He also was Sophomore Class President, Pep Club President, and a Mayor at Badger Boys State. Harry graduated from Stout State University where he played baseball and football and was a Class President as S Club Vice President. Working his way through college, he was employed by Kimberly-Clark, AmericanCan, the Neenah Fire Dept., and Menomonie Pharmacy. After college he went to work for Neenah Foundry, Coached the Neenah American Legion Baseball Team, was a Boys Brigade Leader, and taught Sunday School. He played semi-pro baseball, fast and slow pitch softball and umpired. He was President of the Twin City Industrial Softball League, bowled in several leagues, and was statistician for Hewitts Basketball Team. Harry was also a member of the Germania Society, the Menasha Athletic Club, Past President and Vice President of the Neenah Quarterback Club and a regular blood donor. His entire working life was with Neenah Foundry and Willman Industries of Cedar Grove. He was interested in politics, being a Neenah Alderman for over 10 years, and a Winnebago County Supervisor for 10 years. Harry is survived by his children: Michael Miller; Mari Floros; Mark (Theresa) Miller; Harry Miller; Julianna (Joe) Kampo; 10 grandchildren: Steven (Julie); Brooke; Susan (Special Friend Chris); Patric; Joseph; Jennifer; Mason; Jensen; Jozie; one great-grandchild, Kaiya; his sister, Susan (Bill) Carpenter; brother, Mitchell (Sue) Miller and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; half-sister, Marie; half-brother Jan; and close cousin Jeff Klenke. The funeral service for Harry will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home, Rev. Martin Ruge officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Harrys name.
