DOROTHY MARX

As Dorthy's nephew, I spent many happy and fun times with Aunt Dot and Andy in Centre Hall, PA. From her nights baby sitting us and tales of her trips around the world, she never failed to entertain us. We,my twin brother and I,were even ringbearers in their wedding. She taught us the value of learning from new opportunities and experiences but she was always rooted in her central Pennsylvania upbringing.( It was amazing to me that she picked up a Wisconsin accent) She knew where the only walnut tree was in Centre Hall so she would get walnuts when they fell.What a mess! She made the best rubbarb custard pie in the world. All from scratch! She was a knitting machine. You may get a blanket, scarf or mittens that looked like Joseph's technocolor coat. "How many pairs of mittens did you knit this year Aunt Dot? Don't your fingers hurt?" was always our She taught us the value of longterm friendships. She spent many hours writing notes or sending cards (recycling any piece of paper or card she had !) or visiting friends she knew all her life. Her faith was the centerpiece of her connected life. I will miss her.

"Aunt Dot" will be missed by all of her nieces,nephews,great-nieces and great-nephews here in Central Pennsylvania. When she was able, she and her beloved Andy visited PA at least once a year. They always visited as many family and friends as they could in the 2 week stay. We will miss her spirit and her wit. Thanks to all her Wisconsin family for loving her and taking care of her.
