PATRICIA KURKOWSKI

Kurkowski, Patricia B. Pat Patricia B. (Schroeder) Kurkowski, 80, Neenah, was called to her Heavenly home on February 19, 2011 while residing at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Home, Menasha. She was born April 8, 1930, in Blue Island, IL, to Louis and Mabel (Dreblow) Schroeder. Pat was raised in Illinois and Wisconsin, and graduated from Princeton High School in 1947. On June 14, 1952, she was united in marriage to Francis E Kurkowski at St. Johns Catholic Church in Princeton, WI. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1985. Pat resided in Oshkosh the majority of her life, but moved to the Highlands at Mahler Farms in Neenah in 2009. She loved attending the various activities offered at the Highlands, and made many new friends while living there. Pat was active in the church choir at St Raphaels Church for many years, and continued to rejoice in her faith at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Neenah. Pat was employed by ADVOCAP and worked as a Meal Site Director at Court Tower for many years. Pat is survived by her five children: Kathryn (Gerald) Schnelle, Middleton, Karyn Tellock, Neenah, Tim (Wendy) Kurkowski, Westminster, CO, Jean (Joe) Baumann, Perris, CA, Jill (Scott) Stieg, Darboy; 8 grandchildren: Jeni (Matthew) Chard, Kristine (Tom) Duhn, Katie & Sara Schnelle, Matthew Kurkowski, Elizabeth Baumann, and Jason & Justin Stieg; 7 great-grandchildren: Ivy Schnelle, Ashlynd Schnelle-Hughes, Briah & Keaton Chard, Jacob & Matthew Duhn, and Kailey Shaw; her sister, Nona Schroeder, King; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis, two brothers and their wives: Thomas (Nancy) Schroeder, and Richard (Beverly) Schroeder. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 11:30 am at Westgor Funeral Home, 1140 Appleton Road, Menasha. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home from 9:30 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the National Kidney Foundation. Pats family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Home, Heartland Hospice, Dr. Ifueko Okundaye, Dr. Thomas Winek, and Dr. Douglas Mielke and their staffs for the compassionate care provided to our Mother.
