WAYNE ZUEHLKE

Wayne H. Zuehlke, age 80, of Neenah was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 26, 2013. He was born on October 19, 1933 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, son of the late Harold and Elsie (Krueger) Zuehlke. Wayne graduated from high school in June of 1951 and went to work for the Laughlin Simmons Co. of Midland, TX. In November of that year, he entered the U.S. Navy, and proudly served his country with the Seabees until he was honorably discharged in 1954. He used his G.I. bill and studied machine design at Dunwoody Industrial Institute in Minneapolis, MN, and upon graduation he worked for General Mills in Minneapolis. He met his wife Bernice, and they were married on June 25, 1960 in Alma, Wisconsin, before moving to Neenah, where he worked in the engineering department with American Can until his retirement in 1996. He was a loving, caring husband, father, and grandfather, and loved to fish. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 53 years, Bernice; two sons: Bruce Zuehlke, Oshkosh; Robert (Stephanie) Zuehlke, St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren: Samantha, Alexandra, and Christoph Zuehlke, all of St. Louis, MO. According to Waynes wishes, a private memorial service will be held for the comfort of his family. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name. The family would like to thank Dr. Timothy Goggins and staff at Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology, and St. Paul Hospice Services, especially Melissa, Lauren, Amanda, and Karen for your care and compassion through Waynes illness.
