JAMES KUBORN

James Richard Kuborn, age 77 of Menasha, passed away early Monday, October 28, 2013 at Oakridge Gardens. He was born in Appleton on December 16, 1935 to the late Wilbur and Dorothy (Thompson) Kuborn. Jim proudly served the United States as a Marine for 20 years and was often known as Gunny. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and just being outdoors. He was an employee of Badger Globe for 28 years and was very active in the Badger Globe community, having been on the Board of Directors for the Credit Union as well as a shop steward. Jim will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary (Leininger); his daughters: Patricia Schmidt; Susan (Jake) Jacob; Cindy (Keith) Fields; and Lisa Kuborn; his step-children: Lori (Jeff) Beder; Darci (Norm) French; and Lisa (Mike) Schreiber; his grandchildren: Matthew Schmidt; Naval Reservist, Joseph Schmidt; David (Samantha) Jacob; Melissa (Nader) Sabra; Alex Jacob; Devon Jacob; and Joshua (Lindsay Cicenas) Erickson; as well as a great-granddaughter, Ahsoka Jacob. He is further survived by his step-grandchildren: Erick (Lacey) Zuehlke; Aimee (Jim) Wagner; Bradley Bremseth; Matthew Birling; Andrew (Nikki) Birling; Brent, Alana, Samuel, and Daniel Schreiber; and step-great-grandchildren: Dayton and Dane Zuehlke; Nevaeh; and Noah Birling; and Ben and Kadi Birling. He is even further survived by his brothers: Deacon Jerry (Karen) Kuborn; John (Diana) Kuborn; and Wilbur (Brenda) Kuborn; his uncle, Richard Thompson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Kalloway Kuborn; his sister, Mary Knutson; and his niece, Dana Lynne Kuborn. A memorial service for Jim will be held at 3:00 P.M., Friday, November 1, 2013 at Menashas Westgor Funeral Home, Deacon Jerry Kuborn officiating. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jims name. Jims family would like to extend a warm thank you to Oakridge Gardens for their kind and compassionate care during Jims short stay.
