RICHARD THOMAS

Richard A. Geronimo Thomas, age 80 of Menasha, passed away Monday, October 28, 2013. He was born June 10, 1933 in a log cabin in the Town of Bartelme, WI to the late Otis and Tillie (Rasmussen) Thomas. On April 26, 1958, he married Elaine Pluedeman. Dick is a proud United States Veteran, having served in Libya and New Mexico as a part of the Air Force. He was also a retiree of American Can after 34 years. In his free time, Dick enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a great love of music. He also enjoyed shooting pool and singing. He was a Past-Master of the old Menasha Free Mason Lodge and has been a longtime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Neenah. Dick will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years, Elaine; his daughters: Ann (Bryan) Danke; Carol (Greg) Kempen; and Lynn (Jon) Tyczkowski; his grandchildren: Rebecca Danke; Eric, Alicia, and Timothy Kempen; and Nick and Kaylin Tyczkowski; as well as his great-grandchildren: Serena May Kempen-Lee; and Nadalyn Steenis. He is further survived by his sister-in-law, Bernice; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Peter Thomas; and his brother, Wilbur Thomas. A memorial service for Dick will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 809 S. Commercial St., Neenah, Rev. Catherine A.K. Mode officiating. Friends and family may visit at the church from 9:30 A.M. until the hour of service. Military Honors will follow. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Dicks name. Dicks family would like to extend a warm thank you the nurses and staff of Manor Care for their care and compassion throughout Dicks stay.
