John M. Kissinger, 19, of Menasha, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 3, 2011. John was born at St. Elizabeth Hospital on August 21, 1991, the son of Ellen Spilski Kissinger and the late John Kissinger, Sr. He graduated from Menasha High School, class of 2009, and currently was employed with Step Industries, Neenah. He is survived by his mother, Ellen Kissinger (Terry Holewinski) and sister, Jody Kissinger; he will be deeply missed by his grandfather, Thomas Spilski, Sr.; his aunts and uncles: Mary Spilski (Paul) Marks, Patrick Pud Spilski, Susan Tutty (Robert Bubba) Smith, Mike (Gale) Spilski, Thomas, Jr. Franken (Tara) Spilski, Kathleen Phil (Rob) Lesperance, Ann Spilski, Kay (Jim) Kissinger-Wolf, Karen (David) Peterson; also his cousins: Heather and Christopher Marks, Jill Ellis and Matt Willems, Robert and Corey Smith, Colleen and Rochelle Rocky Spilski, Tyler and Brody Meyer, Carver Spilski, Alex and Maya Wolf, Amanda Peterson; Mandy and Mike Krueger and their children, Nathan and Katie; Johns special friend, Heather Burroughs, and Theresa and Ray. He was preceded in death by his father, John A. Kissinger, maternal grandmother, Colleen Spilski, and paternal grandparents, Marvin and Ruth Kissinger; and a special aunt, Geneva Schmidt. A Service of Comfort for John will be Sunday, March 6, 2011, 3:00 p.m., at Menashas Westgor Funeral Home, with Rev. Tony McKenzie officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday until the hour of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in his name. To my beautiful son, you were the apple of my eye; I will always remember your quirky sense of humor, your quick wit, and your beautiful smile. I am deeply sorry for you loss. I had John in World History his sophomore year. I will always picture him sitting in my classroom with a goofy grin on his face. He was a very nice young man and will be missed by many people. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

I am so sorry for your loss and can only hope that the prayers and thoughts can help you through this time. I only knew John for a brief time in his life, on this earth, but I truly say that I could understand and relate to him and his desires. He will be greatly missed and was a huge inspiration to me.
