ADELINE SHEPPARD

Adeline Ada Sheppard, of Oshkosh, age 94, formerly of Menasha, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, November 7, 2013. She was born December 18, 1918, near Stephenson, MI, daughter of the late Moses and Ida Champeau. Through much of her adult life, Ada was a homemaker, living in Menasha, then Neenah, managing the household and raising three children. In 1981, with zest for life and an entrepreneurial spirit, she joined her husband, Jim, in the ownership and operation of the American Motor Inn. Following the passing of her husband, she spent her retirement in Winneconne with her son, Robert, and in Neenah with her sister-in-law, Eloise. Survivors include her children: Carol (Coy) Brown, Surprise, AZ, Charles (Sue VanCamp) Sheppard, Sr., Menasha, Robert (Colleen Murphy) Sheppard, Oshkosh; her grandchildren: Carri Chatfield, Christopher Brown, Kathryn Zanin, Charles Sheppard Jr., Kamie Hedrington, Scott Sheppard, Max Sheppard, Abby Sheppard; 16 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Joe and Richard Champeau. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at St. Marys Catholic Church, 528 Second St., Menasha, with Fr. Paul Paider officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
