DOROTHY KAIN

Dorothy A. Kain, of Neenah, age 81, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Theda Clark Medical Center. She was born May 18, 1929 in Rib Lake, WI; daughter of the late George Sr. and Mary Gojmerac. Dorothy graduated from Rib Lake High School. She went on to graduate from UW " Stevens Point with a degree in Education and then earned her Masters Degree from UW "Oshkosh. She began her teaching career at an elementary school in Kiel, WI. Dorothy married Wayne Kain on October 12, 1957. Dorothy decided to take some time off from teaching to raise her children. In October of 1969 she began substitute teaching in the elementary schools of the Neenah Joint School District. Dorothy continued this until 1974, at which time she was employed as Reading Specialist at Wilson School in Neenah. She worked there up until her retirement in June of 1990. Her family and teaching were her life. Dorothy was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church of Neenah. Survivors include her husband, Wayne; four children: John (Karen) Kain, MaryAnn (Jerry) LaPine, Lisa Stadtmueller, Susan (Dave) Schindler; seven grandchildren: Justin, Tom, Bryan (Deana), Matthew, Michael, Danny and Jacob; a brother, Walter (Eleanor) Gojmerac; a sister, Christina Roelke; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Gojmerac, Stella Gojmerac; a special niece, Betty (David) Blasel; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary (Nick) Ceranski; four brothers: Joe, Albert (Bernice), Charles, George Jr. (Darlene); and a brother-in-law, Leon Roelke. The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2011, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah, with Fr. Richard Allen officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in her name. The family would like to thank the staff of Prairie Homes Elder Services for their care over the years and also thank Dr. Gary Lamps for his care and compassion.
