KAY RANKIN

Kay M. Rankin, age 77, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born May 30, 1936 in Chilton, WI, daughter of the late Sylvester and Helen (Bernklau) Vollmer. Kay married Ronald Rankin on June 2, 1956 in Hilbert, WI. She was a lifelong resident of the Fox Valley. Kay devoted her life to raising her family and caring for her loving husband Ron until his passing in 2004. Kay was an avid stamper and enjoyed crocheting afghans for family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandma and friend and will be deeply missed by all. She is survived by her daughter, Kristine; sons, Joel (Julie) and Robert (Carol); daughter in law, Patti; grandchildren, Sean, Andrew, Tanner, Erick, Kelsie and Shelbi. She is also survived by her brothers, Judd (Sue) Vollmer, James (Sandy) Vollmer and Genrose Vollmer as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron; son, Rick; brothers, Joe and Jon Vollmer; sisters in law, Margaret and Donna and nephews, Tim and Terry Vollmer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2013 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St., Neenah. Family and friends may visit at the church on Monday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will take place in St. Johns Cemetery, Menasha. A memorial fund is being established in her name. Kays family would like to a special thanks to the staffs of Cherry Meadows and Theda Care at Home Hospice for their compassionate care.
