The morning of November 15, 2013, Mike passed away unexpectedly at Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, however, he had Alzheimers Disease for the last 10 years. We are so thankful to God and blessed to have had him with us as long as we did. We will never ever stop loving and missing him. Our hope is in Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior. Mike was born May 8, 1933 to the late Alex and Lucy Waldoch in Menasha and attended Menasha High School. Mike and Joan Ellis were married previous to his joining the United States Army. He proudly served his country during the Korean War and after basic training in Kansas, he was deployed to Germany. After Mikes discharge in 1955, they settled in Neenah where they raised their five wonderful children: Marsha (Fred) Lewien and their children: Kelsey, Nolan, Micah, and Rebecca; Renee (David) Rouguex; Scott (fiance Maki) and their child, Gabrielle; Michael J. and his children: Shawn and Emily; and Kari (Don) Larsen and their children: Donavan and Sophia. Mike dearly loved his family. They spent a lot of time together, especially at the Chain of Lakes, canoeing, boating, water-skiing, and swimming with the kids there and at the pool in the summer. In the winter they enjoyed ice skating and sledding. Mike also enjoyed golfing and put many, many miles on his bike both alone and on trails with his children and grandchildren, as well as with friends. They played together and worshiped together at Calvary Bible Church. Recently the family celebrated his 80th birthday together with him at King. Mike and Joan were also blessed to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary together at King out in the lovely courtyard looking at old photos and having a cup of coffee and cookies. Mike worked for Kimberly Clark for 29 years and then became a professional truck driver for Menasha Corp. and retired in 1989. In addition to his wife, his children, and his grandchildren, Mike is survived by his sister, Elvina Schutkoske; his sister-in-law and her husband: June and Reed Curtis; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers and sisters: Eugene Waldoch; Virginia Lichtenwalner; Chester Waldoch; and Rita Brux; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial service for Mike will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, November 29, 2013 at Calvary Bible Church, 1450 Oak Ridge Rd., Neenah, Rev. Rick Ribble officiating. Visitors may call at church from 12:30 P.M. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Samaritans Purse, P.O. Box, 3000, Boone, NC 28607-3000, or the local Salvation Army. Mikes family would like to extend a warm thank you to all who took good care of him during his stay at King, as well as to Chaplain Rich and Chaplain Wayne. Mike was a loving and kind husband and father. We will miss his humor, his smile, and the twinkle in his eyes every time he saw us. ~Renee Mike was the love of my life. He was quiet, giving, unselfish, compassionate, had a great sense of humor, and was always there for us. He lived life with the highest integrity and was always honest and, most important, loved his Savior Jesus Christ. ~Joan Our Dad always had time for us and was completely selfless when it came to his family. He always put our family first, from the weeks in the summer to a vacation spot, to a trip to the zoo or just going fishing. He was the best dad a family could ask for. We thank God for the upbringing we had with the parents He provided.
