THOMAS PAWLOWSKI

Thomas D. Tom Pawlowski, of Neenah, age 73, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Monday, November 18, 2013. He was born September 30, 1940 in Neenah, son of the late Dominick and Rose (Wicinske) Pawlowski. Tom gave cancer a really tough battle which was his nature, a strong man both physically and spiritually. Tom lived in Neenah his entire life and graduated from Neenah High School. Tom is survived by the love of his life, Colleen whom he married in 1962, his sons, Thomas and Peter (Dana), two grandchildren, Paige and Kevin and his siblings, James, Steve (Lana) and Rose (Glen) Gauthier, as well as his nieces, nephews and special friend Jack. There are so many other family members and friends, too many to begin to mention. You know who you are, because if Tom cared about you, he showed it by doing things for you. This was just the way Tom was. Tom was preceded in death by his brother Michael and sister in law Sandra. Tom worked hard for 42 years starting with Marathon, and as the company changed to American Can, James River, Fort James, and finally Graphic Packaging Corporation. Tom was proud of his career, as he should be with 21 of his creations patented. His creativity is still being recognized. Tom was nominated for induction into the Paper Industry International Hall of Fame in early May. Tom was very dedicated to his faith and our Lord. He spent time on a daily basis in prayer. He was a member of St. Gabriels Parish and dedicated many hours to the Twin City Catholic Perpetual Adoration Chapel at St. Margaret Mary Church. Tom was a 37 year, Life-Member of the Neenah Knights of Columbus Council #5514. Tom also participated in an annual retreat at the Jesuit Retreat House for 37 years. Tom was technically retired, but he never truly did. He worked for Legacy Trust Services until just weeks before he passed and was very proud to be their employee. Tom had an amazing sense of humor, he always found a way to make you smile. The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, November 25, 2013, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St., with Fr. Richard Allen officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. A Knights of Columbus Rosary service will be held in the church at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Margarets Cemetery. Colleen and the family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Kevin Mortara for his extraordinary care and compassion. Thank you to Noonie from Hospice, you made this process so much easier in many ways, you are an angel on earth. Thank you Patricia Martins APNP. He will live on in the kindness he showed, the comfort we shared and the love he brought into our lives.
