GARY RASMUSSEN

Gary W. Rasmussen, of Neenah, age 56, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 9, 2012, from lung cancer. He was born May 24, 1955 in Neenah, son of Herbert and Josephine Rasmussen. Gary married his best friend, Mary Jo Speakes on June 13th, 1997. He was employed with Stokley Van Camp in Appleton, Waynes Muffler and Auto of Neenah, with his good friend Wayne, and for the last 20 years for Curwood in Oshkosh. Gary loved going to the cottage with the gang and waiting for the City of Iola to sound the Noon time beer siren. He also loved any form of motorsports and beating Mary Jo at cards. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo; his daughter, Michelle Rasmussen, Salt Lake City, UT; a son, Max Rasmussen and his special friend, Amy, Neenah; father, Herbert Rasmussen, Neenah; three step-daughters: Amy (Tim) Dorn, Little Chute, Andrea Plotz and her friend, Christopher Lemers, Larsen, Marki Plotz and her friend, Preston Nelsen, Neenah; a brother, Carl (Ardythe) Rasmussen, Neenah, a sister, Dawn (Randy) Bella, Sherwood; a niece, Lindsey Rasmussen; two nephews: Jae Rasmussen, Austyn Bella; three brothers-in-law: Wayne (Dori) Speakes, John (Jane) Speakes, Jeff Speakes; a sister-in-law, Carrie Russert. He will miss his two little buddies, Skyler Plotz and Owen Nelsen of Neenah. He was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine; and a brother-in-law, Bob Russert. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorials may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
