MARVIN SELLE

Selle, Marvin W. Larsen Marvin W. Selle, age 87, passed away on Friday afternoon, February 17, 2012 at his home, following a lengthy illness. He was born on March 16, 1924 in Tustin, Wisconsin the son of the late Fred and Elva (Steinke) Selle. On July 3, 1943 he married Virginia M. Ginny Nipko, and the marriage was blessed with five children, six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 67 wonderful years until she preceded him in death on May 1, 2011. Marvin grew up on a farm in the Tustin area, after leaving the farm he worked in the Schultz Coal Yard, then worked a milk route for Martens Dairy, before becoming an owner/operator of his semi-tractor trailer, which he leased to Jung Trucking, and ended up retiring from Allied Chemical as a tanker truck operator until his retirement in 1986. After retirement, he and Ginny spent the next 13 winters in Florida. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Neenah. Marvin loved Polka dancing with Ginny, boating, snowmobiling, and traveling. He will be sadly missed by his children: Jane Arps, Sharon (Delmar) Tesch, Joan (Rich) Sczerzen, Susan Burr (special friend Tim Binley); grandchildren: Randy Tesch, Karen (Kevin) Kraus, Wendy (Dan) Velie, Dawn Tesch, Rick (Tena) Arps, Shelly (Scott) Burkett; 10 great grandchildren; a special niece, Cathy Mauer; special family friend, Ellen LaMarche; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, and his beloved wife, Ginny, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara; a sister and brother-in-law, Lyda (Arden) Hansen; parents-in-law, Will and Olga Nipko. The Christian Funeral for Marvin will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (1140 Tullar Road, Neenah) with Rev. Jon Gallatin officiating. Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 22 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home and again on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service directly at the church. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marvins name to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Wed like to extend a huge thank you to the wonderful caregivers of Affinity Visiting Nurses Hospice, who skillfully and thoughtfully guided our family in caring for our Dad.
