CAROL OLSON

Carol R. Olson, age 75, of Neenah passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center. She was born on April 1, 1938 in Neenah, daughter of the late Andrew and Esther (Blank) Beach. She was blessed with four sons, whom she raised on her own, and always made sure they were loved and provided for. Carol was a very giving person, she would give her time and talents whenever or wherever needed, expecting nothing in return. She championed the cause of helping disabled American veterans. She loved playing Bingo, Cribbage, cooking, watching parades, selling Poppies for the Vets, and preparing to make Christmas special for her family. Above all, she loved time spent with her family, especially at the hunting shack, where she awoke earlier than everyone to make sure the coffee was made, and there was enough food for the hunters. She will be sadly missed by her sons: Scott (Becky) Olson, Neenah, Brett (Kalyn) Olson, Neenah, Lance (Nancy) Olson, Harrison, Curt Olson, The Dalles, OR; her life partner, Steve VanOudenhoven, Neenah; Steves sons: Jeff (Patty) VanOudenhoven, Neenah; Joe VanOudenhoven; grandchildren: Jason (Jillian) Olson, Chip Olson, Kane Olson, Claire Olson, Chris (special friend Becky Fedak) Olson, Stacie (Greg) Opahle; great grandchildren: Abram, Emory, Eli, and Sawyer; her brother, Butch Beach. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Esther Mae Olsen, Nona Jean Paveletzke, and an infant sister. The memorial service for Carol will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. She will be laid to rest with her parents in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established to help disabled veterans.
