ROBERT ERDMANN

Robert J. Erdmann, age 94, of Neenah passed away on Friday morning, December 6, 2013 at Villa St. Claire. He was born on April 2, 1919 in Neenah, Wisconsin, son of the late Adolph and Mabel Erdmann. He was the goalkeeper for Neenah High Schools first hockey team in the 1936-37 school year. After high school, Bob proudly served his country with the United States Army during World War II, where he earned a Purple Heart medal in France. He was a very active, and very loyal member of the Boys and Girls Brigade, their oldest active member, and the first chore boy at Camp Onaway. Bob was the owner of Erdmann Lock and Safe, he semi-retired at the age of 91, but kept on locksmithing, as it was also his favorite hobby. He also enjoyed hunting. He was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Neenah. He is survived by his wife, Alice Erdmann, Neenah; son, Richard Erdmann, Neenah; step-children: Shirley (Robert) Michalkiewicz, Neenah, Thomas (Emily) Utschig, Hartford, Carol Dunsirn, Omro, Robert (Cathy) Schaefer, Bon Aqua, TN; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia; a son, Robin; a daughter, Roberta; and a brother, Donald. The funeral service for Robert will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 140 S. Green Bay Road, Neenah, with Rev. Stephen W. Dietzler officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bobs name can be made to the Boys and Girls Brigade.
