LEROY DIEHL

Leroy G. Lee Diehl, Town of Menasha, age 64, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side, on Wednesday, June 5, 2013. He was born in Neenah on September 10, 1948. Lee attended Menasha High School. He worked as a Police Officer for the Town of Menasha from 1969 " 1985. Lee was then employed with Kimberly-Clark for 10 years and then he went into construction until his retirement in 2010. Lee married Carole Rost of Neenah, on February 21, 1981. Lee was an outdoors, rugged man. He loved duck hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, and listening and dancing to the oldies. Lee was a wildlife artist and loved to make people laugh. He adored his five grandsons after raising three hens. Lee is survived by his wife of 32 years, Carole; three daughters: Bethany (Javan) Olson, Amanda Haack and her special friend, David Loux, and Angela Straw and her special friend, Mike Wenzlaff; five grandsons: John Moyles, Justin and Jacob Carroll, Michael Straw and Jayden Loux. Lee is further survived by his father, Gayton (Charlotte) Diehl; two brothers: Clyde (Sue) Diehl, Terry (Sylvia) Diehl; a brother-in-law: Bill (Mary) Rost; a sister-in-law, Shelly (Joe) Lingnofski; an uncle; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He will also be deeply missed by his beloved 4 legged hunting companions, Marnie and Annie, who are mourning also. Lee was preceded in death by his mother, Iola Kohler Diehl; a brother, Allan C. Diehl; his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Marjorie Rost; and a brother-in-law, Ricky Rost. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 11:30 AM, at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 140 S. Green Bay Road, Neenah, with The Rev. Stephen W. Dietzler officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in his name.
