Obituary

William Edward Pulda, Jr., aged 75, of Oshkosh, passed away Saturday at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. Bill, as he was known to family and friends, was born May 24, 1938 to William E. Pulda and Mary (OConnor) Pulda in Keshena, Wisconsin. Bill lived in northern Wisconsin and Michigans Upper Peninsula, where his father worked in logging. In 1961 he joined the U. S. Army, a service of which he was very proud. He then served in the U.S. Air Force. Following his discharge, Bill moved to Appleton, WI where he worked as a taxi driver, Foremost Dairies, and later with Fox River Paper. Bill volunteered with the Appleton VA Clinic. He was the member and past commander of the American Legion Post #38 of Appleton, the 32nd Division Veterans Assoc., the Catholic War Veterans, DAV Past Commander Post #46 of Neenah/Menasha, DAV Post #17 of Oshkosh. Bill was also very involved in local parades with the Military and assisting with Military Honors at funerals. He was also a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Menasha. Bill Pulda was preceded in death by his father William, mother Mary, infant sister Patricia Ruth, sister Shirley Ketchum of Neenah, sister Elsie Beyer also of Neenah, half sister Marcella Morton of New Braunfels, TX and half sister Terry Jury of Appleton. He is survived by his brother Gordon of Neenah, sister Mary Litsenberger of Red Wing, MN, and sister Janet Becker of Cave Creek, AZ plus numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held for William E. Pulda, Jr. on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Sharp officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Full Military Honors will follow the service performed by the Neenah/Menasha Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will be in Townsend, WI.

I wish I had met him. According to Ancestry.com, he was the half brother of my grandmother, Marcella.
