PHILLIP BROWN

Phillip B. Brown, age 92 of Larsen, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 27, 2011. He was born February 10, 1919 to the late Clay and Mary (Parish) Brown in the Town of Lind. Phil left school after sixth grade to help on the family farm. He was then drafted into the Army and served overseas during the Battle of the Bulge from 1944-1945. In 1954 he began working for Kampo Truck, which became Schneider Truck in 1968, and drove well into his 80s. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, jet-skiing, snowmobiling, and 4-wheeling. He was also an avid Packer fan. Phil is survived by his wife, Joan (Voit); son, Donald (Judy), Madison; daughter, Bonnie (Marvin) Kasten, Winneconne; step-sons: Robert (Leanne) Mayer, Suamico; Kurt (Katie Rosenthal-Mayer) Mayer, Neenah; grandchildren: Troy (Terri) Kasten; Cody Kasten; Brad (Alice) Brown; and Ryan (Krista) Brown; step-grandchildren; Annee Mayer-Chapleau; and Maysun Rosenthal. He is further survived by 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet (Malnory) in 1985 after over 45 years of marriage; and his siblings: Beryl (Richard) Berg; Beverly (Marvin) Roeske; William (Lela) Brown; Glen (Mary) Brown; Margaret (Walter) Richter; and Dorothy Brown. A memorial service for Phil will be held Friday, September 2, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home, Pastor Paul Holte officiating. Military Honors will follow at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until the hour of service. Inurnment will be in Lake View Cemetery, Oshkosh.
