BARBARA VOLKMAN

Barbara Ann Volkman, age 77, passed away on Saturday evening, March 3, 2012 with her family at her side at Theda Clark Medical Center. She was born on January 12, 1935 in the Stevens Point area in Wisconsin, daughter of the late Basil and Frances (Jelinski) Kruzicki. After graduating from Shiocton in 1952 Barbara moved to Neenah took a job at Neenah Paper. While living in Neenah she met Richard R. Volkman and the two married on May 30, 1956 at St. Dennis Catholic Church in Shiocton. She and Richard are charter members of St. Gabriel Parish. Barbara was a selfless, nurturing woman who cherished the time she spent with family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved spending summers at their trailer on White Potato Lake, fishing, gradening, and going out to eat. She will be sadly missed by Richard, her beloved husband of 55 years; her only daughter, Virginia (Wyatt) Oliver, Julian, NC; two grandchildren: Jessica (Jim Grabowski) Lornson, Fredonia, WI, Justin Lornson, Julian, NC; four great grandchildren: Shanese Eckstein, Brandon Grabowski, Joseph Grabowski, Mickey Lornson; three brothers: Nick (Helena) Kruzicki, Bear Creek, Larry (Angie) Kruzicki, Bear Creek, and Myron (Carol) Kruzicki, Shiocton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Gregory Richard in 1962. The Funeral Mass for Barbara will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel Parish. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass, directly at the church. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbaras name can be made to the American Cancer Society.
