GERALD JEFFERY

Gerald M. Jerry Jeffery, age 75 of Appleton, passed away peacefully Monday, September 19, 2011 at Grand Horizons. He was born December 12, 1935 to the late Gerald and Lorraine (Rather) Jeffery. On November 12, 1960, he married Toni Nelson at St. Patrick Parish in Menasha. Jerry was a Menasha High School graduate, having played on the winning state Basketball team. After school, he joined the United States Marines and eventually retired from Fox River Paper. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, and many good years on Lake Poygan. He was also a member of Appleton Yacht Club. Jerry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Toni; his daughter, Suzanne Marie (Tim) Maier, of Midlothian, VA; his son, Michael Gerald (Vicki Shaw) Jeffery, of Annapolis, MD; his grandchildren: Julian and Natalie Jeffery, and Allison and Amy Maier. He is further survived by his sisters: Betty Tobin of Spokane, WA; and Janet (John) Hathaway of Sun City West, AZ. He was preceded in death by his brother Don. A memorial service for Jerry will be held Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Menashas Westgor Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 NOON until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Donations will go toward renovations at the Appleton Yacht Club. Jerrys family would like to extend a warm thank you to the nurses and staff at Grand Horizons, as well as Southern Care Hospice for their kindness and compassionate care.
