Obituary
Nichols-Kain, Kathleen A. Menasha Kathleen Ann Nichols-Kain, age 57, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Theda Clark Medical Center. She was born on July 15, 1954 in Appleton the daughter of Joan (Van Buskirk) and the late Richard Pekel. Kathleen loved spending time with her grand nieces, trips to Mexico, and riding on the motorcycle. She loved seeing her grandson whenever possible. She loved baking, and taking pictures at all events. She loved her mother-in-law and did a great job taking care of her. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Chris Kain; her son, Joseph (Cindy) Nichols; grandson, Aldrich Nichols; mother, Joan Pekel; sister, Chris (Tom) Miller; brother, John (Sue) Pekel; niece, Chelsea (Joe) Padour; nephews: Charles Miller, Josh and Justin Pekel; step-sons: Joseph, Colin, and Ross Kain; grand nieces, Rachel and Abigail Padour; mother-in-law Scoots Kain; brother-in-law, Darrel (Deb) Kain; sister-in-law, Jo Kain; aunts and uncles: Karen (Roger) Kaas, Bob (friend Mary) Van Buskirk, David (Margaret) Van Buskirk, Tom (Lynn) Van Buskirk; her beloved cats, Gus and Boo. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Donald Kain, and her cat, Splash. The Memorial Service for Kathleen will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Menasha with Rev. David Skarsten officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. A very special thank you to our best friends, Ron and Kathy Paulick for their support, and to all of our Recovery friends.

i'm so sorry to hear about kathleen's death. i worked with her at the garden's of fountain way a few years ago. i am an admirer of sharp wit and good humor and she didn't disappoint! my sincerest condolences to all who loved her. cindy kirk

Our condolances to the family and friends of Kathleen. She was and inspiration to all that knew her and her cookies and baked dishes along with her loving personality will be missed by all that knew her. Ice known Kathleen to help many of us out and to be a good advisor onwhat a good friend that Bill is. God Bless her and God Speed Kathleen.
