ROBERT HOMAN

Robert A. Bob Homan, of Neenah, age 83, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 12, 2013. He was born April 16, 1930 in Menasha, son of the late Adolph and Mary Louise (Fletcher) Homan. Bob graduated from Menasha High School. He served in the US Army in Korea where he was awarded the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Korea Service Medal and CIB. Bob married Darlene Schuette on April 21, 1951 in Dubuque, IA. Bob began his career with the Neenah Police Department on February 1, 1957, and he retired as a Captain on April 2, 1986. He enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, boating, snowmobiling and living on the lake. Bob loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Darlene; two children: Jennifer (Donald) Mishler, Scandia, MN, Jeffrey (Susan) Homan, Woodruff; two grandchildren: Alexsandra Homan, Jessica Homan; and a sister, Marian Zellmer; and his miniature Cocker Spaniel, Skyy. Bob was preceded in death by a brother, John. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 17, 2013, at 11:30 AM at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 140 S. Green Bay Road, Neenah, with The Rev. Stephen W. Dietzler officiating and the Neenah Police Department Honor Guard in attendance. The visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 AM until the hour of service. Full military rites will follow the service conducted by the US Army and the Neenah Menasha Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in his name.
